Miami-Dade County's Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia is reminding voters of temporary changes to 12 polling locations ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.

The changes affect several precincts across the county and are necessary because of construction, scheduling conflicts and other circumstances that have made the original polling sites unavailable.

The Supervisor of Elections Office has identified alternative locations in surrounding communities to accommodate affected voters. The office said it does not own or manage the properties used as polling places and works with community and government partners to secure election sites.

"Preparation is at the heart of every successful election, and that includes anticipating challenges and finding solutions before voters arrive at the polls," Garcia said.

She said the office had worked to identify suitable alternatives and ensure affected voters knew where to cast their ballots.

The temporary changes affect the following precincts:

Voters assigned to the affected precincts must report to their new locations on Tuesday rather than their previously designated polling places. Signage has been placed at the former sites to notify voters of the changes.

The elections office is encouraging all voters to verify their assigned Election Day polling location before heading to the polls. Voters can visit VoteMiamiDade.gov and enter their information to access their personalized voter records.

For those affected by the changes, the updated polling location will automatically appear in their voter information.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters who are in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to cast their ballots.

Early voting ended on Nov. 1.

"Our office remains committed to keeping voters informed every step of the way," Garcia said, adding that the goal was to make voting as smooth and efficient as possible.

Additional election information, including polling locations, sample ballots and voting options, is available at VoteMiamiDade.gov.
