On Thursday, October 26, 2023, the vibrant city of Miramar will gather at the Universal Technical Institute in anticipation of Mayor Wayne M. Messam’s annual State of the City address on behalf of the Miramar City Commission.

The event which is set to begin at 6:30 p.m., is expected to be an enlightening evening that unveils the city’s achievements, addresses its pressing issues, and lays out future plans.

A platform for the community

The annual State of the City address serves as a vital platform for Miramar’s residents, local businesses, and community organizations. 

It provides them with a unique opportunity to gain insight into the city’s progress and development over the past year.

“Miramar, Your Forever City”

Under the overarching theme of “Miramar, your Forever City,” this year’s presentation aims to spotlight the myriad services and advantages available to Miramar’s residents and businesses throughout every phase of life.

Eight years of growth and achievement

Mayor Wayne M. Messam’s address will also celebrate the remarkable accomplishments and evolution that Miramar has undergone in the last eight years. 

These years have seen the city overcome significant challenges related to infrastructure, public safety, and housing. 

As Mayor Messam explains, “There were infrastructure, public safety, and housing challenges that were unmet and we have made significant strides over the years. So, what is next for Miramar? I want our community to know we are moving forward with intentional focus on making Miramar your Forever City. Miramar strives to be the City for YOU at every stage of your life.”
