Murder accused Leoda Bradshaw rumored to be in relationship with policeman at prison

Leoda Bradshaw, the Jamaican-American woman accused of being the mastermind behind the murders of lawmaker Phillip Paulwell's 10 month-old daughter and her mother, is rumored to be involved with a police officer at the prison that she is being held.

There are also allegations circulating on social media that Bradshaw is pregnant by the officer.

At a press briefing today, Commissioner of Police Dr. Kevin Blake said that the policeman has been removed from duty at the St. Catherine lock-up.

"We heard the allegation and immediately commissioned an investigation around it. We also removed the officer who was so accused from the station. Our investigation to this point has not shown that there is any truth to the allegation and so far, the allegation seems to be false," Blake said.

Six arrested and charged

Bradshaw was charged with murdering politician Phillip Paulwell's infant daughter Sarayah Paulwell and her mother, 27-year-old Toshyna Patterson last year.

Patterson and Sarayah were abducted outside their St. Andrew home on September 9, then taken to a section of East Kingston, where they were killed and their bodies burnt.

Leoda Bradshaw, who is a former partner of Phillip Paulwell, and her cousin Roland Balfour were charged with murder and other offences.

Two other men that were implicated in the double murder were sentenced in December.

Richard Brown, a 31-year-old graphic artist from Kingston, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on each of the two counts of murder.

He was also sentenced to one year and 10 months in prison on each of the two counts of kidnapping of the mother and daughter. The sentences are to be served concurrently and he has been ordered to serve 20 years before he is eligible for parole.

Brown’s accomplice, Roshane Miller, was sentenced to serve seven years and 10 months for each count of accessory before the fact to murder; two years and 10 months for each count of conspiracy to kidnap; and one year and 10 months for misprision of felony. The sentences are to run concurrently.

A fifth person, Bjon Black was officially charged on January 12 with the kidnapping and murder of Toshyna Patterson and Sarayah Paulwell, following gun charges that were laid against him in December.

A sixth person, David Smith — who is accused of being the man who pulled the trigger in the murders — was charged in March.
