LAUDERHILL - The City of Lauderhill Water Division is conducting its yearly Preventative Maintenance Procedure, which will temporarily affect the City’s chlorine levels. This procedure is intended to improve the disinfection levels of our water distribution system. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection recommends the Preventative Maintenance Procedure as an annual practice.

This Chlorination Procedure will begin on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 12 midnight and will end on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 12 midnight.

During this Chlorination Procedure, your water quality will absolutely continue to meet ALL Federal, State and local standards for clean water and will remain safe for drinking, bathing, cooking, and other household purposes. Please note that during this time you may observe a slight change in the taste, odor and/or color of your tap water. Do not be alarmed, your water is safe.

This Chlorination Procedure will affect residents served by the City of Lauderhill. Residents who are on kidney dialysis or those who have other medical conditions should contact your health care provider for more information to determine if your treatment needs to be changed during this process. In addition, anyone who uses City water for fish tanks or aquariums must adjust your chlorine treatment levels during the procedure period as well. If you see temporary water discoloration, please run the water in your faucets until the water runs clear.

Finally, be advised in the event you see water running from fire hydrants in your neighborhoods, it is part of the normal maintenance process.
