LATAM to resume Peru-Jamaica flights in December

Following a tourism sales mission in South America, LATAM, the largest airline in Latin America, announced the reinstatement of nonstop flights from Lima, Peru to Montego Bay, Jamaica, starting December 1 this year.

This move follows successful efforts by Jamaican tourism authorities, including Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett and officials from the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB).

A vital development in regional tourism

The new route by LATAM Airlines is set to significantly bolster tourism in Jamaica, providing direct access to and from Lima with three weekly flights.

The operation will utilize Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft, which can accommodate 144 and 174 passengers respectively.

These flights are strategically scheduled to connect seamlessly at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay with Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima.

Additionally, this service facilitates convenient onward connections within Peru and to other major South American destinations such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

Resuming services post-pandemic interruptions

This initiative marks a resurgence of the airline’s operations with Jamaica, which previously saw several weeks of service spanning December 2019 to February 2020 before disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
