Justice Sector transformation: Caribbean Chambers of Commerce sign MOU

The Caribbean Chambers of Industry and Commerce (CARICHAM) and the Caribbean Agency for Justice Solutions (CAJS) recently solidified their dedication to advancing justice sector modernisation in the Caribbean.

This was achieved through the formalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

On Friday, July 28, a landmark ceremony was held at the Regional Office of CAJS in Belize City, Belize.

Digital transformation: Modernizing courts for the future

This event highlighted the growing push by the private sector to advocate for the digital transformation of courts and a broader embrace of alternative dispute resolution methods across the Caribbean.

The MOU was officiated by Petipha Lewis, Chair of CARICHAM, and Bevil Wooding, Executive Director of CAJS.

This document underscores the collective mission of both organizations to champion court modernization, enhance access to justice, and bolster digital capacity for Caribbean businesses.

Woodly shared that the collaboration aims to strengthen methods like mediation and arbitration, positioning them as more collaborative, cost-effective solutions for businesses. Such strategies are believed to cultivate a business culture characterized by trust and understanding.
