Update: Judge orders cops to charge or release Alkaline by 6:00 PM Monday

A Kingston Parish Magistrate on Monday ordered police holding popular dancehall star, Alkaline, to charge him or release him by 6:00 Pm today (Monday February 13).

The magistrate issued the order after the entertainer’s attorney, Peter Champagnie, made an application for him to be released on Monday morning.

Alkaline, whose real name is Earlan Bartley, has been in custody since last Thursday after turning himself over to cops at the Criminal Investigation Branch in Kingston for questioning in a murder case.

The homicide investigators are investigating the murder of Rohan ‘Head’ Morris who was shot dead at his home in Three Oaks Gardens, At Andrew in January.
