From suspension to determination
James’ troubles began during the West Indies Breakout League earlier this year, when match officials reported a suspect action in back-to-back fixtures against the Barbados Pelicans (April 25) and the Guyana Rainforest Rangers (April 26) at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Remedial road to redemption
Rather than dwelling on the setback, James embarked on a rigorous corrective programme under the guidance of the Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board. The work focused on technical adjustments to ensure full compliance with international standards.
On August 8, updated video evidence of his remodelled action was again sent to Loughborough for assessment. The latest independent opinion confirmed that James’ action now meets the regulatory requirements, allowing him to return to competitive bowling with immediate effect.
CWI praise for commitment
In a statement, CWI commended the fast bowler’s dedication during the process.
“CWI acknowledges the commitment shown by Joshua James throughout the remedial process and extends its appreciation to the coaching and support staff who assisted in his return.”
James’ reinstatement will now give both Trinidad & Tobago and West Indies selectors another genuine pace option ahead of upcoming fixtures.
