Jamaica's women's football team faced yet another disheartening defeat at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, as they succumbed to a lopsided 0-6 loss against the host nation. The match took place at the Estadio Elias Figueroa as part of Group A in the Women's Team Preliminary Round.

Chile delivered a dominating performance with goals from Yastein Jiminez (44th minute), Yessenia Lopez (45th+5 minute), Franchesca Caniguan (55th minute), Isidora Olave (68th minute), Maria Jose Urrutia (78th minute), and Karen Araya (82nd minute), securing their victory over Jamaica. This unfortunate result marked Jamaica's third consecutive defeat in the tournament.

Jamaica's struggles in the Pan American Games had previously seen them face a 0-7 loss to Mexico the previous Sunday, followed by a devastating 0-10 defeat to Paraguay midweek.

Chile dominance

Game statistics reflected Chile's dominance, with 22 shots, 17 of which were on target, putting pressure on the Jamaican goalkeeper, who made six saves. In contrast, Jamaica managed only three shots, with two on target, leading to two saves by the Chilean goalkeeper.

Jamaica's next match will be against Bolivia in the 7-8 Classification at the Estadio Elias Figueroa on Tuesday.
