A Jamaican man has been arrested and charged after two people were reportedly stabbed during an altercation at a Burger King restaurant in Bay County, Florida, on Thursday, Aug. 13.

Shaquiel Williams was charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon following the incident at the Burger King near Coastal Palms Boulevard, according to the Bay County Sheriff's Office.

According to an arrest affidavit cited by WJHG, Williams was inside the restaurant ordering food when an argument reportedly began over his inability to pay for his order.

The dispute escalated after an employee approached Williams in an attempt to calm the situation, authorities said.

The affidavit alleges that Williams stepped on the employee's foot and slapped her in the face before pulling out a pocketknife and stabbing her in the back.

Several employees reportedly intervened to stop the altercation. During the confrontation, a second employee was allegedly cut by Williams' knife.

Williams fled the restaurant after the incident but was later arrested by the Bay County Sheriff's Office.

Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.

The sheriff's office said Williams is from Jamaica and was in the United States illegally. He is currently being held at the Bay County Jail on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold.

The case remains under investigation.
