A second-generation Jamaican innovator is aiming to simplify the path to entrepreneurship with the launch of Torqeva, a new roadmap-based app designed to help users transform their goals into actionable steps.
Founder James Anderson created the platform after recognizing a common challenge among aspiring entrepreneurs: while information is widely available, many people still struggle with knowing where to start.
"Millions of people have goals, but very few have a clear roadmap to achieve them," Anderson said.
Torqeva is designed to provide users with personalized, step-by-step guidance for achieving major life goals, beginning with helping aspiring business owners launch their companies. The platform’s first offering focuses on state-specific business-launch roadmaps that guide users through the process of starting a business based on where they live.
Rather than presenting users with overwhelming amounts of information, Torqeva organizes the process into clear milestones that explain what steps to take, why each step matters, and where to access official resources.
"Our mission is simple: help people understand, plan, launch, and grow with confidence," Anderson said.
Tackling the Challenges of Starting a Business
For many first-time entrepreneurs, launching a business can be a complicated process. Requirements vary by location, official resources can be difficult to navigate, and determining the correct sequence of steps can create uncertainty.
Torqeva aims to address those challenges by providing structured business-launch roadmaps that include progress tracking, state-specific requirements, official government and business resources, and easy-to-understand explanations.
The platform currently offers complete business-launch roadmaps for 23 states, with Rhode Island in final development. Anderson said the goal is to expand coverage to all 50 states before the platform’s official launch.
"What excites me most isn't simply building software," Anderson said. "It's helping someone realize they can finally move forward because they know exactly what to do next."
Building With User Feedback
As Torqeva prepares for its public release, Anderson said beta testing is an important part of refining the platform and ensuring it meets users’ needs.
"Great products aren't built by one person," he said. "They're built with the people they're designed to help."
Feedback from early users has already resulted in improvements, including clearer milestone layouts, enhanced instructional guidance, improved navigation, and a smoother overall experience.
"One thing we've learned is that people don't just want information, they want confidence," Anderson said. "That insight continues to shape every update we make."
Platform Seeks Beta Testers
Torqeva is currently inviting entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners, freelancers, side hustlers and others interested in launching a business to participate in its beta testing program.
Participants will gain early access to the platform’s Launch a Business Roadmap, explore one of the available state-specific business guides, preview upcoming features and provide feedback before the official release.
The first 50 beta testers who complete the testing experience and submit the official feedback form will receive one year of Torqeva Pro at no cost.
Anderson encouraged testers to evaluate whether the platform clearly communicates the next steps, whether the roadmap is easy to follow and whether the guidance builds confidence.
"Honest feedback is the most valuable feedback," he said. "Whether it's positive or critical, every suggestion helps us improve the platform for future users."
Expanding Beyond Entrepreneurship
While Torqeva’s initial focus is helping people start businesses, Anderson said the long-term vision extends to other areas of personal and professional growth.
Future roadmaps are planned for career development, financial independence and other major life goals, all built around the idea of replacing uncertainty with clear, actionable guidance.
"This isn't just about launching a business," Anderson said. "It's about giving people the confidence to take the next step toward the future they want."
With additional state guides and features in development, Torqeva aims to become a resource for people seeking practical guidance to turn their ambitions into reality.
