Legendary Jamaican-American actress, Sheryl Lee Ralph recently made a donation of tablets to children in Manchester.

Ralph donated 15 tablets to the Chantilly Primary School in the parish on January 27.

The initiative combined the efforts of Ralph's charity – the DIVA Foundation – and WALKGOODLA – a movement founded by her son, Etienne Maurice.

While making the donation, Ralph stressed the importance of bridging the digital divide. "So many children are left behind without access to a tablet. The digital dive is real! What an amazing gift to see their little faces light up as they explored the device", she wrote in a caption on Instagram.

Ralph said that her commitment to improving the well-being of the children in Manchester is fueled by her late mother, Ivy Ralph, who was a native of Chantilly.

Sheryl Lee Ralph said that her mother’s dying wish was for her children to never forget where they came from, in rural Jamaica.

In 2019, the DIVA Foundation issued backpacks filled with school supplies, lunch bags, and uniforms, and provided assistance with school fees to the children in Chantilly.

Ivy Ralph, who was a renowned fashion designer, died in 2018 at the age of 90.
