Jamaica Women crowned Super50 champions despite loss to Guyana

In the West Indies Women’s Super50 Cup, Jamaica women reclaimed the title despite a defeat to Guyana in the final round of matches on Wednesday.

Despite the loss, Jamaica secured the championship, marking their first Super50 title since a decade ago.

Former West Indies women’s Under-19 captain Ashmini Munisar starred for Guyana, claiming three wickets for 11 runs to dismantle Jamaica's batting line-up, restricting them to 72 runs. In response, Guyana chased down the target with opener Mandy Mangru leading the charge with 24 runs, securing a five-wicket win under the D/L/S method.

Windward Islands women defeated Barbados by 44 runs

In another match, Windward Islands women defeated Barbados by 44 runs, with Afy Fletcher's resilient 72 and Shamilia Connell's four-wicket haul steering Windwards to victory. Barbados' Kycia Knight's valiant 64 was not enough to secure a win for her team.

Meanwhile, T&T Divas defeated Leeward Islands women by four wickets, with Lee-Ann Kirby and Samara Ramnath guiding their team to victory.

Despite the defeat, Jamaica emerged as the champions of the Super50 tournament, showcasing their dominance throughout the competition.
