IDB to host annual meeting in Dominican Republic
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and IDB Invest will host their annual board of governors meeting in the Dominican Republic in March.
This assembly will focus on pivotal matters concerning Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), including climate change, sustainable growth, and poverty reduction.

Finance and economy ministers, along with other eminent officials, will gather from March 6-10 for the IDB’s annual board meetings.
These leaders will discuss strategies to address the region’s pressing issues and drive its development.

IDB aims to bolster its support for LAC amid rising social demands, fiscal constraints, and the need for green economies.
Key discussions include the new IDB Group Institutional Strategy, capital increase proposal for IDB Invest, and an innovative private sector-driven development model.
Revamping IDB lab
IDB Lab, the bank’s innovation laboratory, is set to undergo transformation into a multi-source funding platform for disadvantaged populations.
Inclusive engagement
IDB said thatcCivil society representatives will engage with member countries, and thematic seminars will delve into vital development topics. These include education, energy transition, agricultural innovation, and food security.
The Business Investment Forum will foster public-private collaboration, while the IDB’s annual macroeconomic assessment report for LAC will provide crucial economic insights.
