IDB calls artists to participate in project

- “Participating artworks should reflect one of the following development challenges in the region: diversity and inclusion, innovation, economic growth and globalization, gender equality, environmental sustainability and justice,” the IDB said.
- It said the winning proposals will be displayed in “Sidewalk of the Americas,” a public art installation comprising over 150 artworks.
- “The installation aims to provoke audiences to think of a dynamic and united region betting on disruptive change and the role of art and creativity in development,” the IDB said.

The Washington-based Inter-American Development Bank said the artists would be able to “demonstrate the immense artistic creativity of Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The Inter-American Development Bank said artists from The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago, among other places, can participate in the project.
The call opens until January 7, 2018, the IDB said.
