Housing Authority of Grenada making strides in low-income housing distribution
In a significant step toward fulfilling the dreams of many Grenadians for home ownership, the Housing Authority of Grenada (HAG) has announced substantial progress in the allocation of its low-income housing units, kicking off the distribution in Corinth, St David.
Streamlined acquisition process
The Housing Authority of Grenada assures that the process of acquiring a unit will be seamless, consisting of several key stages.
This includes the Inspection and Acceptance of Units, Signing of the Sale Agreement, Preparation of Conveyance by the Legal Team, Finalization of transactions involving financial institutions, HAG, and the legal team, culminating in the Hand Over of Keys to the Homeowner.
Diligent efforts yield results
Over the past months, HAG says efforts were made to finalize the acquisition process.
Efforts were directed towards procuring closets and cupboards for all units, ensuring the safety and livability of the residences for all future occupants.
According to HAG, the distribution of housing units is now in progress, with financial institutions being notified today regarding the legal documentation for the units.
Structured handover process
The handover of units will proceed according to a structured plan. Starting with Corinth, St David, units will subsequently be allocated in The Villa, St Patrick; Dumfries, Carriacou; Beausejour, St George; and Diamond, St Mark.
Scheduled inspections
Beginning March 19 and continuing until March 22, assigned units in Corinth, St David, will be available for inspection by pre-approved clients via appointment between 9 am and 6 pm.
Inspections will be conducted in the presence of HAG officials, with inspection forms to be signed by both the client and HAG officials upon completion.
Opportunity for shortlisted applicants
From March 25 to March 28, units will be open for inspection to other shortlisted applicants, also by appointment between 9 am and 6 pm.

Future inspections
Inspections for units in other locations will commence on scheduled dates, Mondays to Fridays, starting from April 2, 2024, for The Villa, St Patrick, and Dumfries, Carriacou, and continuing subsequently for Beausejour, St George, and Diamond, St Mark.
