Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters creates 400 jobs in Trelawny, Jamaica

Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness is brimming with optimism as he reflects on the creation of 400 new direct jobs at the recently unveiled US$40-million Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters resort in Trelawny.

Prime Minister Holness, along with Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett, earlier this week participated in the grand opening ceremony of the Autograph Collection, an all-inclusive resort.

A transformative endeavor

Holness acknowledged the substantial impact of this investment on the region. 

He stated the substantial investment has not only revamped the landscape but has created 400 new direct jobs and 350 new indirect jobs.

Work commenced in May to revitalize the property, resulting in 352 modern and exquisitely designed suites and rooms adorned with a calming color scheme.

Impressive transformation timetable

The Prime Minister marveled at the speed with which the transformational project was executed. 

He pointed out that the decision was taken in May of this year, and now we are in December, cutting the ribbon, highlighting that in just about six months, US$40 million have been spent on transforming the place.
