The excitement surrounding the upcoming Racers Grand Prix on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Kingston's National Stadium, has reached new heights with the confirmation of two of Jamaica's most promising young athletic talents: Jaydon Hibbert and Roshawn Clarke.

Hibbert, a standout in the men’s triple jump, has captured global attention with his remarkable abilities in the event. Despite facing a setback due to a hamstring injury at last year's World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hibbert's talent remains undeniable. With his unique style and flair, Hibbert is anticipated to dazzle audiences and elevate the level of competition at the prestigious 15-event meet.

Glen Mills, Chairman of Racers Grand Prix, expressed enthusiasm about Hibbert's participation, recognizing his potential to captivate spectators with his performance. "Jaydon is the most exciting talent we have seen and the top sensation in the men's triple jump. We are happy to provide him the opportunity to compete at the highest level locally in front of his home fans," Mills shared.

Recently turning professional after signing with Puma, Hibbert is poised to leave his mark on the global stage, eyeing success at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games this summer.

Emerging star in the 400m hurdles

On the other hand, Roshawn Clarke, the emerging star in the 400m hurdles, has already made waves in the athletics world. Making his debut at last year's World Championships, Clarke shattered the long-standing Jamaican 400m hurdles record held by Winthrop Graham. Despite finishing fourth in the final, Clarke displayed immense potential, clocking a personal best and World Under-20 record of 47.34 ssecond in the semi-finals.

Following a season-opening victory in the 400m at the Camperdown Classics, Clarke, who will be turning 20 just prior to the Olympic Games, is expected to deliver an outstanding performance at the Racers Grand Prix.

As Hibbert and Clarke gear up to showcase their talents at the Racers Grand Prix, Jamaican fans eagerly anticipate witnessing their extraordinary abilities firsthand. With their sights set on Olympic glory, these two young athletes are poised to inspire a new generation of athletes and capture the hearts of spectators worldwide.
