The document was signed virtually by Director General of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), retired Lt. Col. Egbert Field, and Director General of Peru’s Directorate for Civil Aviation, Paola Mariella Marin Ugarte.
During the signing, both officials underscored the importance of the initiative in advancing regional integration and improving air transport links between Guyana and Peru. They also reaffirmed their commitment to concluding a comprehensive air services agreement that supports mutual development goals.
According to aviation authorities in both countries, the MoU also reflects a shared focus on strengthening safety standards, improving regulatory coordination and exploring innovative approaches within the aviation sector.
Officials said the initiative positions both Guyana and Peru to play a stronger role in regional aviation cooperation, while opening new economic opportunities through improved connectivity across the region.
