Guyana Harpy Eagles secure 4th consecutive win with dominant victory over Jamaica Scorpions

In a display of dominance, the Guyana Harpy Eagles clinched their fourth consecutive win in the West Indies Championship with a commanding 212-run victory over the struggling Jamaica Scorpions on the final day of their sixth-round match at Sabina Park.

Starting the day with Jamaica on 123 for two, requiring 419 for victory, the Harpy Eagles' bowlers proved too much for the Scorpions as they swiftly dismantled their batting line-up, claiming the last eight wickets for just 83 runs to dismiss Jamaica for 206.

Left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie and off-spinner Kevin Sinclair were instrumental in the Harpy Eagles' triumph, both finishing with identical figures of three for 32.

The Harpy Eagles' winning streak began after drawing their opening match and losing the second, with subsequent victories over West Indies Academy, Barbados Pride, and Windward Islands Volcanoes.

Scorpions faltered under pressure

Nial Smith made an early breakthrough for Guyana, removing Brandon King's middle stump, while Motie accounted for the crucial wicket of Kirk McKenzie, who could only add two runs to his overnight total before being dismissed.

Despite efforts from Peat Salmon, who scored 30, and partnerships with Abhijai Mansingh and Derval Green, the Scorpions faltered under pressure from the Harpy Eagles' bowlers.

Nineteen-year-old speedster Isaiah Thorne made key contributions, taking two wickets to derail Jamaica's innings further.

With Motie dismissing Green to wrap up the Scorpions' innings, the Harpy Eagles secured another convincing victory, maintaining their winning form and solidifying their position in the championship.
