This change, introduced through the Education Amendment Bill, raises the previous mandatory school age range from 5 to 16 years.

According to information from the Government Information Service (GIS), several key initiatives have been launched to support this transition. These include enhanced training programs for TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) teachers, upgrades to centers of excellence, the introduction of a Free Tuition program, and new strategies to improve educational access.

“Minister for Education, Senator the Hon. David Andrew, has reassured that beyond education at T.A. Marryshow Community College (TAMCC), New Life Organisation (NEWLO), and St. George’s University, the Government is actively pursuing partnerships with NTA-approved technical service providers to offer students additional skills training opportunities,” GIS stated.

These efforts are aimed at expanding skills training opportunities for students across Grenada.
