Former inmate arrested after assaulting Miami-Dade Corrections officer

An 18-year-old recently released inmate, Cristian Karlo Diazmore, found himself back behind bars following an altercation with a Miami-Dade Corrections officer outside the county jail. 

The incident unfolded at the Miami-Dade Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, located on Northwest 41st Street.

Diazmore was arrested on Tuesday on a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer, as revealed by Miami-Dade jail records.

Confrontation turns physical

According to reports, the corrections officer said he was in his vehicle on his lunch break when a man started banging on his window.

The officer then exited his vehicle to address the confrontational stranger, only to discover that it was Diazmore. 

Reports are that Diazmore launched an aggressive charge at the officer, seemingly intent on engaging in a physical altercation. 

The officer defended himself and restrained  Diazmore until police arrived.

Return to custody

Following the violent encounter, Diazmore was taken into custody by the authorities and subsequently booked back into jail. 

Records indicate that his bond was set at $1,500.
