Fly AllWays aircraft forced to land in Guyana due to engine failure

A Fly AllWays aircraft was forced to make an unscheduled return to Guyana’s Cheddi Jagan International Airport on Monday due to a mechanical malfunction shortly after departure.

Mechanical malfunction 


The aircraft, designated as Fly AllWays flight PZ-TFB, was en route to Suriname with 44 passengers when the incident occurred.

Reports are that at an altitude of approximately 20,000 feet, the plane experienced a significant drop in oil pressure, compromising the right engine’s functionality.

In response, the pilot switched the malfunctioning engine to idle mode.

Upon detecting the issue, the pilot decisively redirected the plane to its point of departure for an emergency landing.

Immediate response by Timehri Fire Station


According to reports, the Timehri Fire Station received notification of the situation at 11:12 am. In response, a team of ten personnel rapidly assumed strategic positions, ready to address any further complications arising from the engine malfunction.

All passengers were safely evacuated upon the aircraft's return to the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.
