Flood advisories end after more heavy rain drenches South Florida

NBC 6- Severe thunderstorm warnings and flood advisories were issued in South Florida on Monday as more heavy rain was coming down and a risk for additional flooding was possible.

One flood advisory had been in effect for portions of Miami-Dade and Broward until 4:45 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

The advisory said between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen and additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area.

A second flood advisory had been in effect for portions of coastal Miami-Dade and Broward until 5:30 p.m.

Both advisories were canceled around 4 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for a portion of northern Miami-Dade and southern Broward until 2:45 p.m. It included Hollywood, Hallandale, North Miami, North Miami Beach and Aventura

An earlier severe thunderstorm warning had been in effect for north central Miami-Dade and southern Broward until 1:45 p.m., with 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail possible, the National Weather Service said.

An earlier tornado warning had also been in effect for areas including Davie, Plantation, Sunrise, Tamarac and Lauderhill until it expired at 11:30 a.m.
