Five Miami-Dade County public schools have been ranked among the 100 best high schools in the United States in U.S. News & World Report’s latest national rankings.
The 2026-27 Best High Schools rankings also placed 15 Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) institutions among Florida’s top 50 high schools.
Leading the district nationally was the Marine Academy of Science and Technology at Florida International University, or MAST @ FIU, which ranked No. 31 in the country. Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy followed at No. 55.
iPreparatory Academy was ranked No. 86 nationally, while TERRA Environmental Research Institute came in at No. 87 and Design and Architecture Senior High School, or DASH, ranked No. 96.
MAST @ FIU also earned the No. 2 spot among high schools in Florida, while Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy ranked sixth statewide.
The other Miami-Dade schools in Florida’s top 50 were iPreparatory Academy at No. 9; TERRA Environmental Research Institute at No. 10; DASH at No. 13; Maritime & Science Technology Academy at No. 14; International Studies Preparatory Academy at No. 18; Young Women’s Preparatory Academy at No. 21; New World School of the Arts at No. 23; and Miami Arts Studio 6-12 @ Zelda Glazer at No. 24.
Medical Academy for Science and Technology at Homestead ranked No. 29, followed by Center for International Education: A Cambridge Associate School at No. 33, Coral Reef Senior High School at No. 37, Biotech@Richmond Heights 9-12 Senior High School at No. 44 and Barbara Goleman Senior High School at No. 48.
U.S. News & World Report said its 2026-27 rankings were based on an evaluation of nearly 25,000 traditional public, magnet and charter high schools across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, with more than 27,000 schools included in the national rankings.
Schools were assessed across six measures, with college readiness carrying the greatest weight at 30%. State assessment proficiency and state assessment performance each accounted for 20%, while underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates each accounted for 10%.
