Early voting begins Monday for Miami-Dade August 18 primary election

Early voting for the 2026 August 18 Primary Election begins Monday, August 3, in Miami-Dade County, with voters able to cast ballots at 23 convenient locations through Sunday, August 16.

Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia is reminding voters to participate in the election and take advantage of the early voting period ahead of Election Day.

“We want to make voting as easy and convenient as possible. Every voter should participate to keep our democracy strong and vibrant,” Garcia said.

The early voting schedule is as follows:

• Monday, August 3 to Friday, August 7, 2026: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Saturday, August 8 and Sunday, August 9, 2026: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Monday, August 10 to Friday, August 14, 2026: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16, 2026: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A secure ballot intake station will be available and staffed at each early voting location during operating hours.

The deadline to request a Vote-by-Mail (VBM) ballot is Thursday, August 6.

Garcia reminded voters that vote-by-mail requests from the last presidential election have expired unless they were renewed. Voters who want to use that option must submit a new request.

“Your VBM ballot can be returned by mail and no postage is required,” Garcia said. “Or it can be returned at any of our early voting locations during hours of operation outside under the marked tents in our secure ballot intake stations. They can also be returned at our headquarters in Doral or our Downtown Branch Office.”

All Vote-by-Mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, August 18.

“Our goal is to conduct elections that are secure, accurate, transparent and accessible for all Miami-Dade County voters,” Garcia said.

Meanwhile, early voting in neighbouring Broward and Palm Beach counties will begin Saturday, August 8, and continue through Sunday, August 16, ahead of the August 18 Primary Election.

Voters across South Florida are encouraged to confirm their registration status, review sample ballots and verify polling locations before casting their ballots.
