Cynthia 'Mother' Pratt assumes Governor-General post in The Bahamas

In a ceremony held last Friday, The Bahamas welcomed its 12th Governor-General, Cynthia ‘Mother’ Pratt. 

During her inaugural address, Pratt emphasized the importance of collective efforts to bring about meaningful change. She urged citizens to focus on community well-being, particularly emphasizing the need to support the youth, individuals with special needs, and the elderly.

Strong endorsement from Prime Minister Davis

Bahamas’ Prime Minister, Philip ‘Brave’ Davis, was effusive in his praise of Pratt at the induction ceremony. 

He pointed to Pratt’s wide-ranging contributions in public life, which have endeared her to many and earned her the moniker ‘Mother.’

According to Davis, Pratt’s influence extends far beyond her local community of Coconut Grove, touching lives throughout The Bahamas.
