Miles Bascombe, CWI's Director of Cricket, praised the initiative as a vital step for regional cricket: “Offering year-long contracts to these remarkable players is a testament to our long-term vision. The recent performances of our Maroon Warriors have shown the talent we have, and we’re committed to building on this potential for greater consistency and success in global tournaments,” Bascombe stated.

CWI has reaffirmed its investment in men’s cricket
The contracted players for 2024/25 are: Barbados: Shanika Bruce, Alisa Scantlebury; Guyana: Shenetta Grimmond, Plaffiana Millington, Mandy Mangru; Jamaica: Celina Whyte; Trinidad & Tobago: Shalini Samaroo, KD Jazz Mitchell, Reniece Boyce; Leeward Islands: Melicia Clarke, Kimberley Anthony; Windward Islands: Earnisha Fontaine, Abini St. Jean, Nerissa Crafton.
Beyond women’s contracts, CWI has reaffirmed its investment in men’s cricket by renewing 90 contracts across six territories, ensuring both male and female players benefit from a supportive structure that cultivates high-performance athletes across the board.
