“All hardworking employees deserve to have time to take care of their children, their aging parents, and themselves without the risk of losing a paycheck or their job. “I am grateful to my colleagues who supported this item on its preliminary vote. I look forward to hearing from the public and my fellow Board members when this item is heard in the Health Care and County Operations committee on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 9:30 am. I am committed to working with my colleagues to address any concerns they may have about my proposal during the committee process.

“Thank you to the many faith-based leaders, labor unions, women’s organizations and nonprofit representatives who took the time to attend today’s Board meeting and to speak out in support of this legislation that is critical for workers in our county. Together, we will continue to advocate for our working families.”
