City of Miami Lifts Nightly Curfew & Shelter-in-place Order

The City of Miami, Florida's second most populated city, has lifted its nightly curfew and the shelter-in-place order which have been in place since March.

On May 20, the first day of reopening for the city of Miami, city manager Arthur Noriega V announced that the curfew and order were no longer in effect.

According to the notice, “effective immediately, the nightly 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew is no longer in effect. Likewise, the general shelter-in-place order has ended.”

“Although the shelter-in-place order has been lifted, residents with preexisting medical conditions that increase their risk of contracting COVID-19 should continue to shelter in place if possible and limit exposure to persons outside of their household,” officials said in a message to residents.

Facial coverings and social distancing are still required in public spaces and in stores, salons, barbershops and parks.
