A recent report published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has raised significant concerns regarding unintentional injuries as a leading cause of death among children under the age of 17. 

This harrowing revelation has shed light on a disturbing trend, with firearms emerging as the primary method of injury.

CDC report reveals alarming statistics

The CDC’s National Violent Death Reporting System conducted a comprehensive analysis, drawing data from 49 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. 

Spanning the period from 2003 to 2021, the report unveiled that 1,262 children lost their lives due to unintentional incidents involving firearms.
