Caribbean nationals like millions of his fans around the world, flocked to social media last Friday morning as news broke of the reported suicide of famed chef turned author and travel show host, Anthony Bourdain, CNW Network partner News Americas' reports indicate.
The New Jersey native, who was found dead in his hotel room in France where he was filming a show, had traveled across the Caribbean, delighting in the exotic cuisine and laid-back vibe.

The list was endless as the comments kept on pouring in for the 61-year-old celebrity who has toured many Caribbean nations while also tapping into the culture and cuisine of Caribbean nationals in the Diaspora.
One of his special episodes was a show on a Jamaican bush doctor in the Bronx, NY and visits to “Puerto Rico” in the Bronx.
Bourdain visited Jamaican many times, enjoying the jerk chicken at Scotchies, playing dominoes and sipping Red Stripe.
He also travelled to Haiti, the Cayman Islands, Trinidad & Tobago, St. Maarten, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and the Dominican Republic, to experience a variety of exotic cuisine, including rundown, fried fish, bake and shark and doubles.
Bourdain’s body will be shipped back from France for burial in the US.
