Pimping is defined as the act of controlling prostitutes and facilitating client arrangements while taking a portion of their earnings in return.

The nationalities involved

According to a brief statement from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, those apprehended come from a diverse range of backgrounds, including St Lucia, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, as well as French nationals.

Months of covert investigation yield results

French authorities disclosed that their investigation into the suspected pimping ring had been ongoing since March.

The charges faced by the accused individuals extend beyond aggravated pimping; they also include money laundering and violations of drug laws.

Notably, five out of the six individuals charged find themselves in pretrial detention.
