The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) announced the appointment of finance executive, Gregory N. Hill, as its Vice President of Finance and Corporate Services.
Hill assumed office on October 5, 2023, and oversees a multifaceted portfolio, which encompasses finance, human resources, information technology, and communications.
Championing development finance access
In his new role, Hill’s responsibilities will extend to resource mobilisation, a critical component in increasing the accessibility of development finance for the CDB's Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs).
The pressing demand for resources - geared towards climate action, sustainable energy transitions, infrastructure upgrades, and enhancements to social services - underscores the Region’s drive for holistic growth and sustainable progress.
The President’s perspective
CDB’s President, Dr. Hyginus “Gene” Leon, emphasized the Bank’s commitment to refining the financial ecosystem to serve the multifaceted needs of the BMCs.
He shared that these countries navigate the tightrope of juggling immediate fiscal responsibilities with future growth strategies, all the while fortifying themselves against financial, climatic, and social upheavals.
Dr. Leon expressed confidence that Hill’s extensive experience in the regional banking sector would fortify the executive leadership team.
