Despite a heart-breaking defeat in the third Twenty20 International against England on Saturday, West Indies' captain, Rovman Powell, emphasized that the team would not make radical changes to their approach.

West Indies had posted an imposing total of 222 for six at the National Cricket Stadium, but England staged an incredible run chase to win by seven wickets with a ball to spare.

Powell praised the team's tactical approach, which included playing two left-arm spinners, Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie, in the attack. He expressed confidence in their plans, saying, "I think it is very good. They bowled pretty well in both games so it’s just for us now to sit down … and come up with plans."

England's strong fight

While acknowledging England's strong fight, Powell remained optimistic about their strategies against English batters. He noted, "I think the plans are still very good against these English batters but credit has to be given to them, they fought strong and hard in what is a very good series."

England's Phil Salt played a crucial role in the chase with an outstanding unbeaten century, scoring 109 off 56 balls. He was supported by captain Jos Buttler, who contributed 51 off 34 deliveries, and Liam Livingstone, who added 30 runs. In the end, Harry Brook's sensational finish, including three sixes and a four in the final over bowled by veteran all-rounder Andre Russell, sealed the victory for England.

Powell lamented the loss but remained positive, saying, "I think we have quality guys on the field in the XI to do the job. It’s just unfortunate that it didn’t come off today."

Windies won the opening two games

West Indies had won the opening two games against England, showcasing their big-hitting ability. Powell confirmed that the team would continue with this aggressive approach in the upcoming double-header at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.

He explained, "I think it’s just taken its natural course. We’re six-hitters, so we try to hit as many sixes as possible and then we try to improve in the other areas that we aren’t as strong . But if you should look at the duration of this series, the guys are improving steadily, and those are encouraging signs."

The fourth T20 International is scheduled for Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
