Broward County to test voting equipment ahead of November 3 election

The Broward County Canvassing Board will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 30 at the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office, where it will conduct a required Logic & Accuracy (L&A) Test.
The test, required under Florida law, is designed to verify the accuracy and reliability of voting and tabulating equipment before it is used to process vote-by-mail and Election Day ballots.
The meeting and equipment test will be open to the public and media.
The Canvassing Board will be chaired by Judge Melinda Brown and includes County Vice Mayor Robert McKinzie and Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott.
Attendees will also see the office’s updated Election Systems & Software DS300 precinct ballot scanners and DS950 high-speed central-count scanners. The equipment will undergo testing for the first time ahead of the Nov. 3 General Election.
Media members who cannot attend in person may participate by Zoom or phone using the remote-access information provided by the Broward County Supervisor of Elections.
The meeting will be held at 4650 NW 21st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
