“National School Lunch Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the nutritious meals served to our students each day and the dedicated team members who make it possible,” BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn said.
He said healthy meals help students stay focused and energized and prepare them to learn, adding that the district was proud to provide meals that support students' success in and out of the classroom.
The district's Food and Nutrition Services Department provides breakfast and lunch options that meet federal nutrition standards. Meals include fruits, vegetables, whole grains and other foods intended to support students' health and well-being.
