Residents in the Ballard’s Valley area in St Elizabeth, Jamaica have reportedly found the lifeless body of a British man who was reported missing.

Robert Dyer, a 60-year-old diabetic, arrived in Jamaica on Friday and was reportedly residing with his brother.

Reports are that Dyer went missing after reportedly telling relatives that he was going for a nature walk.

Dyer reportedly got lost

According to the Jamaica Observer, the senior citizen last communicated with relatives at about 1:00 pm on Monday to say he got lost.

Head of the St Elizabeth police division, acting Superintendent Coleridge Minto reported on Tuesday that Dyer was “unable to locate his way back to the house” after going on a “nature walk.”

Reports are that Dyer’s walking stick was found at about 2:00 am on Thursday.

His unresponsive body was found in a vegetated area.

A united front in search operations

According to Jamaican media reports, the operations, spearheaded by Minto, evolved into a robust collaboration between the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Defence Force.

The search strategy also involved the use of canine units from both forces, which have been scouring the area since Sunday.
