Boating incident in TCI claims life of popular DJ

Officers from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force are investigating a boating incident that occurred in the Leeward Channel.

According to reports, the mishap took place around 4.58 p.m. on September 24 and involved two boats that collided with each other.

Casualties and search operations

It is reported that the impact of the collision was so severe that two male occupants were catapulted into the water.

A two-hour-long search operation ensued, resulting in the tragic discovery of Michael Taylor’s body.

Meanwhile, the second male occupant is undergoing medical treatment, highlighting the severity of the incident.

Public’s role in the investigation

The police force has reached out to the public, urging witnesses or anyone with recorded footage of the incident to step forward.

Such evidence will significantly assist investigators in piecing together the events leading to the tragic accident.
