The Ministry of Health disclosed that, as of June 8, Bermuda has documented 303 confirmed cases.

The classification of the six recent deaths as “COVID-19-related” underscores the gravity of the situation.

While awaiting full certification, health authorities vigilantly monitor trends, relying on reports from healthcare providers and facilities.

Notably, surveillance extends to key locales such as schools and long-term care facilities, crucial in gauging the virus's trajectory.

Maintaining safety protocols: A collective responsibility

Echoing the ministry’s directives, Minister Wilson reiterated the importance of upholding fundamental practices.

Emphasizing the significance of good hygiene, social distancing, and respiratory etiquette, she implored residents to remain steadfast in their adherence to these measures.

Moreover, individuals exhibiting symptoms are encouraged to undergo testing promptly, facilitating early intervention and containment efforts.

Healthcare response: Mitigating transmission risks

The Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) has enacted precautionary measures in response to recent developments.

With select units under quarantine at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute, visitations have been suspended to prevent further spread.
