Andre McDonald, a Jamaica-born US Air Force Major, was sentenced to the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison on Monday, for the murder of his wife.

He was convicted on Friday of manslaughter in a Texas court for the gruesome 2019 death of his wife, Andreen McDonald. The sentence was read by presiding Judge Frank Castro.

McDonald will be eligible for parole after ten years.

McDonald, 40, is the son of Portland businessman Everton "Beachy Stout" McDonald who is accused of murdering both his wives in Jamaica. “Beachy Stout” is currently in custody and is scheduled to stand trial in September for the murder of his second wife.

McDonald was originally charged with the murder of his wife Andreen McDonald, which carries a maximum penalty of a life sentence.

His guilty verdict came after deliberations ensued for 12-and-a-half hours and an ‘Allen Charge' read by the judge, which is intended to put further pressure on the jury to come to a unanimous decision. If not, Castro could have declared a mistrial.

During last week's testimony, it was reported that McDonald confessed to killing Andreen and disposing of her body in 2019, but said he acted in self-defense.

The verdict comes nearly four years after McDonald's disappearance, which led to months of searching across Bexar County.

The couple shared an 11-year-old daughter.
