BCPS launches free summer meal program for children across Broward County

Starting Monday, June 8, 2026, free breakfasts, lunches, snacks and suppers will be available at 96 school sites for all residents aged 18 and under.

BCPS Superintendent Howard Hepburn said the initiative reflects the district’s year-round commitment to student wellbeing.
“Broward County Public Schools is committed to supporting the health and well-being of our students and families year-round,” Hepburn said. “Through Summer BreakSpot, we are proud to offer nutritious meals that help children stay fueled, active and ready to learn throughout the summer.”
Meal service dates, times and offerings will vary by location, and all meals must be consumed on site. Service will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Families can locate participating sites and schedules by visiting SummerBreakSpot.org or browardschools.com/summerfeeding, calling 2-1-1, or texting “Food” or “Comida” to 304-304.
The Summer BreakSpot initiative is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered in Florida by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
