Miami-Dade County Public Schools has added South Dade Senior High School to its After-School Meals Program for the 2026-27 school year, expanding an initiative that provides meals to students participating in after-school educational and enrichment activities.
The new location began participating in the program on Sept. 1. South Dade Senior High School is located at 28401 S.W. 167th Ave. in Miami.
The After-School Meals Program, a component of the Child Care Food Program under the U.S. Department of Agriculture, currently operates at more than 285 M-DCPS schools.
According to the district, the program is designed to ensure students participating in regularly scheduled educational or enrichment activities after school receive the nutrition they need to learn and grow.
Meals served through the program must meet USDA nutritional requirements and include fresh fruits and vegetables.
After-school and Saturday meals are provided at no separate charge to children enrolled in after-school care programs or Saturday Academy at participating sites.
M-DCPS said new after-school educational or enrichment programs and Saturday Academies that begin at any point during the 2026-27 school year may also request meals for participating students through the district’s Department of Food and Nutrition.
