Police are investigating the death of one of their colleagues amid reports that he was killed in an apparent love triangle.

“We are appealing to the general public who may have any information in relation to this matter to contact any police station,” said Police public relations officer, Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, who confirmed that the body of Constable Shane Welch, 31, had been found outside his home, early on Monday.

“The Commissioner of Police and the administration of the Force express heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family, relatives, friends and colleagues of Constable Welch,” he added.

Media reports here state that a female police officer was at the center of the dispute involving Welch and another man, believed to be her husband.

Since Welch’s death a video has been circulating on social media detailing the circumstances surrounding the apparent love triangle.
