Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri ditches Reggae Boyz for England U19s

English Championship teenager Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri has made a dramatic U-turn in his international allegiance, opting to represent England U19s instead of Jamaica's Reggae Boyz.
Cadamarteri, who recently earned a call-up to the Jamaica squad for their CONCACAF Nations League semi-final against the US, has reversed his decision just 24 hours after being announced by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).
Despite having his Jamaican passport sorted and being seen as a promising prospect by Jamaica's head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson, Cadamarteri has chosen to join England U19s.
Expressed his pride in being selected for England U19s on social media
The 18-year-old striker, who has scored four goals for Sheffield Wednesday in the English Championship this season, expressed his pride in being selected for England U19s on social media, even replacing the Three Lions badge as his emoji.
While Cadamarteri could theoretically play for England, Italy, or Jamaica due to his heritage, he had initially qualified to represent the Reggae Boyz through his father Danny, a former Everton player.
Instead of featuring in his maiden senior international match with Jamaica, Cadamarteri will be in Morocco with England U19s, facing Morocco U19 and the USA U19 in upcoming matches.
Despite this decision, Cadamarteri still retains the option to switch his senior international allegiance from England to Jamaica in accordance with FIFA's ruling regarding youth caps.
