Antigua and Barbuda to undertake voter re-registration

Antigua and Barbuda’s government is considering a voter re-registration to enhance the electoral list’s integrity.

This move aims to replace the decade-old voter ID cards expiring this year.

Re-registration over renewal

Cabinet spokesman, Ambassador Lionel Max Hurst, highlighted the preference for re-registration over simple renewal.

According to the Antigua Observer, the rationale behind this decision is the belief that re-registration will contribute to the preservation of the integrity of the voters’ list, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
