Another American dies while snorkeling in The Bahamas

The Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) is investigating the death of a 66-year-old American tourist from New Jersey. 

The unfortunate incident occurred while the man was snorkeling near Athol Island. 

A troubling pattern emerges

This unfortunate incident adds to a concerning trend of American tourists facing tragic outcomes while participating in water activities in The Bahamas. 

Rescue efforts and tragic outcome

Police reports are that the man, who is of Asian descent, encountered difficulties in the water.

The man was rescued and then collapsed while attempting to board a vessel.

Reports are that onboard the vessel, CPR was administered by personnel to the victim. The vessel then transported him to Paradise Island, where emergency medical technicians awaited his arrival.

Despite the efforts made to save him, the tourist remained unresponsive. He was subsequently taken to the hospital, where a doctor examined him and pronounced him dead.
