American Airlines cleared for Guyana operations

The Cabinet in Guyana has granted America Airlines, permission to start its scheduled service to the country.

During a post-cabinet press briefing on Thursday, Minister of State Joseph Harmon said the approval  came after the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority found the airline’s application to be satisfactory.

The airline will begin its service in mid-November with four flights per week between Miami and Georgetown.

According to Harmon, airline officials have already visited Guyana and   briefed the local authorities on their plans for the local market.

Although American will be flying between Miami and Georgetown, it will offer connections to all of its other destinations from Miami.
