Alleged racist abuse towards Reggae Boy Kasey Palmer sparks condemnation from Coventry and Sheffield Wednesday

Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday have strongly condemned alleged racist abuse aimed at Jamaican international midfielder Kasey Palmer during Coventry's 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Owner Doug King expressed the club's support for Palmer and emphasized that there is no place for such behavior in football or society.

Coventry's manager, Mark Robins, echoed the sentiment, urging the individuals responsible to "grow up." Robins emphasized the need to address and deal with such racist remarks promptly.

Shock and sadness over the alleged incident

Sheffield Wednesday also released a statement expressing shock and sadness over the alleged incident. The club pledged to collaborate with the relevant authorities and promised strict sanctions against anyone found responsible, both within the club and under the law.

Chairman Dejphon Chansiri firmly condemned the reported abuse and affirmed that there is no room for such appalling behavior in football or society.

Sheffield Wednesday's manager, Danny Rohl, addressed the allegations and stressed the importance of the club working with the referee to investigate the incident and issue a statement regarding the matter.

Mark Robins praised Coventry's Ben Sheaf

Meanwhile, Mark Robins praised Coventry's Ben Sheaf for his outstanding performance in the match, where he scored twice in the victory. Robins highlighted Sheaf's all-action performance and likened his play to that of former player Bryan Robson.

In regard to the game itself, Robins acknowledged Sheffield Wednesday's resilience and spirited performance, while Rohl expressed disappointment with the result and called for continued fighting spirit throughout the season.
