Maidelys Sanchez, 38, was arrested for allegedly operating an illegal post-cosmetic surgery recovery center after police found eight patients recuperating in a northwest Miami-Dade apartment.
Reports are that Sanchez was arrested on Tuesday for operating an assisted living facility without a license, among other charges.
According to police reports, investigations began after receiving a tip that a woman from out of state who had received cosmetic surgery was possibly being held against her will in a unit at a building.
Reports are that Sanchez welcomed the investigators inside the home when they showed up Tuesday afternoon.
Eight women were reportedly found in different stages of post-operative recovery in the home.
Police disclosed that the women said they received personal care that included bathing, dressing, eating, using the bathroom, personal hygiene, medication, and transportation.
The women further said that they have been charged between $1,600 and $2,100 for personal care.
According to the police, three employees who were also interviewed said they were paid in cash by Sanchez.
Maidelys Sanchez was subsequently arrested.
Reports are that the bio-hazard waste in the home was disposed of by investigators from the Illegal Dumping Unit.
